For some reason my credit card has been charged numerous times from GOOGLE *LTD ADWORDS CC@GOOGLE.COM 06 940430000. I have no idea what this is and thought maybe you could help me.
Hi Annette – if you don’t have a Google AdWords account for buying online advertising, then you may have been a victim of some kind of credit card scam, in which the thief uses your card to pay Google for advertising. I’m not an expert on credit card abuse, but I think your first action should be to contact your credit card company’s abuse hotline and ask them to block payments on your card, and get you a replacement card. Then ask for reimbursement from your card company for unauthorised use.
If you do have an AdWords account, then these are payments that you have authorised when you signed up for the account. However, if you previously held an account and haven’t used it for some time, it is possible that another type of scammer has “stolen your identity” – they have probably used your account name and guessed your password, and are now advertising their choice of products using your money. You need to get into that AdWords account and check it, cancel your card payments and get hold of Google AdWords Customer Support staff to request a refund.
Great post, I bookmarked your blog so I can visit again in the future, Cheers, Lupe Tenhoff
