Im new to Google Adwords and in the 5 day’s so far i’ve been on here i’ve had no clicks. Turns out my words are active but when i go to the magnifine glass it says the Ad isn’t showing because I have “reached and exceeded budget”. But how is this possible if with my 2 Ads for the campaign one has 158 keywords & max CPC of $0.10 and the other ad 196 keywords & a max CPC of $0.05. Now if u mutilply and add that up thats $25.7 for the budget..but i’ve tried putting it up as far as $50 for my campaign budget and it still isn’t showing. But the part that really got me is that when i go to edit campaign settings and check the budget setting the recommended budget says its fine and i don’t need to change it no matter what budget i set up just as it says im exceeding my budget no matter what too.
Hi Ryan, as you’ll know, I’ve investigated your account and it looks pretty much like standard editorial review delays. There are other causes that could produce this symptom, but I’m pretty certain that your problem will go away soon, of its own accord.
I am also new to google AdWords. My ads were fine for a few days then for each of my keywords I was getting this “Ads rarely show due to low quality score” Now no matter what I do to try and fix this nothing works except if I put my max cpc up to about £5.00, way over my budget. Any help would be appreciated
Hi philip – you should look at the articles here about improving quality score and increasing the CTR. Also check out the “Getting Started With AdWords” video, part 1.
Increasing the spend when you have a poor Quality Score won’t help you make a good profit – but a good Quality Score does help in many ways.
This is the cut & paste of the error message. What is wrong with my domain name and or file? Anybody had this one? I don’t know what kind of file it is so I do not know what kind of help to down load. This message comes up on google’s Webmaster Tools / dashboard. They put the .com in. It simply says check the box to verify
File Type: Unknown
Description: Windows does not recognize this file type.
You may search the following Web site for related software and information:
When I follow for “related software and information” I have no idea what to use there.
Hi Jennifer – You are asking about a search engine optimisation tool, the Google Webmaster Console (similar to the Yahoo!Site Explorer and the MSN Live Console). In order to see details about your site, you have to prove that you have enough administrative control to upload a file or edit the head of the home page.
I’m not entirely sure what you’re clicking on – but you don’t need to click to get the validation file. Google will give you a filename like “google7ebb7a7a3c02e168.html”. Just create that file, empty. in the root directory of your site. Or, if you can’t easily create a file (some web sites make that hard) edit the home page “HEAD” section and include the metatag validation that Google offers. It should go between the <head> and </head> tags.
This has nothing to do with AdWords, though!
To clarify my problem:
Error: Your 404 error page returns a status of 200
Details: Google can not recognise file type for verification.
I am on webs / be honest, they are not compatible with the net or google, am I correct?
Metatags can not be used to verify on webs
I’m not familiar with webs.com – there’s a zillion site creators. A site creator that prevents me from adding files to the root directory or adding a metatag validation is something that I wouldn’t consider using. If webs.com won’t let you do that, find a better tool.
I am just challenging them now. If They can not help me get straight with searches and verification, I’ll challeng with VISA. Thanks anyway.
i was wodering why no 1 has even clicked on my ad with google yet do i need to start another ad or just keep waiting time is money lost can anyone help me with this problem i have all the revelant keywords but im not showing up in any searches or anything with google i think ill take my money elsewhere very soon
I want to be able to make a payment whenever I want to prevent my account from getting out of hand. I have filled out some info a couple weeks ago but havent heard. Can you help me?
Jeff
@steve – see the article on “AdWords Ads Don’t Show – Help!”.
@jeff – AdWords offers prepaid accounts and postpaid accounts. If controlling funds is important, then consider a prepaid wire transfer account; that way the account can’t spend more than you submit – but it does take a few days for a wire transfer to turn up, you have to plan ahead.
Actually I know they are working on a new plan for people to make payments whenever because I filled out the information. I couldn’t find it again in the help forum but some people are already doing it. They said a notification would be posted when you log in but I haven’t seen anything yet. I was just wondering if you knew where the link was located on what page.
jeff
I believe you’re right that there’s a new payment mechanism in progress. Not something that I’m following with any degree of interest. Our clients are mostly funded through an MDO (Manager Defined Order). Simplifies a lot of issues – defining budgets, budget periods and invoicing for larger accounts.
I just started using ad wods last week but feel I’m missing something, really looking for some help, if I can get this site going then I want to start using adwords on my forex site http://www.doublearrowforextrading.com
I have no problem calling to dicuss all this all I need is full phone number and best time.
Thanks
Kurt Schenholm
why is my ad not showing after it is approved by google?
@jenira – approval means that your advert *can* run. You also have to pick suitable keywords and bid them highly enough. And if the Quality Score on your chosen keywords is low, then even bidding higher won’t help. You can easily have an approved advert that doesn’t get shown because the Quality Score is too low.
